### Here We Go Again: GOP Pushes Kids’ Online Safety Bills, Dems Cry Foul So, the Republicans are at it again, trying to pass a bunch of kids’ online safety bills, including the so-called Kids Online Safety Act (KOSA). This time, they’ve made it through a House committee, and the Democrats are not happy about it—surprise, surprise. As the House Energy and Commerce Chair, Brett Guthrie from Kentucky, and his GOP pals tried to make their case, they were met with a chorus of complaints from the other side. Apparently, the idea of keeping kids safe online is a major trigger for Democrats and some technology safety advocates. You have to wonder: do they really think kids are just fine navigating the internet without any rules? Instead of discussing the actual content of the bills, it seems the focus was more on the outrage from the Democrats. They sure love to criticize without offering any constructive solutions, don’t they? Let’s be honest: this whole back-and-forth is a classic case of political theater. Republicans want to look tough on online safety, while Democrats act like any attempt to regulate the internet is a direct assault on freedom. It’s almost like they think kids are equipped with some magical ability to dodge all the dangers lurking online. In the end, it’s easy to see that this debate isn’t really about kids at all. It’s just another round of finger-pointing and virtue signaling. Can we just agree that keeping kids safe online should be a priority, regardless of which party is in charge? Or is that too much common sense to ask for?
