### Trump Insults a Reporter, and Suddenly It’s a Big Deal So, Vice President Vance thinks Trump is a genius for calling out CNN’s Kaitlan Collins for not smiling in the Oval Office. Apparently, even being in the West Wing during this little exchange qualifies him to comment. How enlightening. Vance’s take? Trump’s “perceptive.” Really? Is pointing out someone’s lack of a grin the new standard for deep political insight? It’s a bit rich coming from a guy in the administration that’s made a habit of playful jabs at the media. But sure, let’s hand out gold stars for insulting reporters. What’s more interesting here is the media’s reaction. An offhand comment about a reporter’s expression suddenly becomes a headline-worthy moment. It’s like they were waiting for an excuse to sensationalize something that really isn’t all that shocking. At the end of the day, it’s just another day in the circus. But hey, if we’re focusing on who’s smiling or not, maybe we’re avoiding the real issues. Or maybe that’s the point. Are we really that easily distracted?
