### Seriously? Trump’s Threat to Iran Gets a Yawn from Congress So, President Trump decided to go full-on nuclear—figuratively, of course—by threatening the obliteration of Iran in a social media post. Cue the outrage from Rep. Eli Crane, who’s apparently more upset about some women flying in from Turkey for Medicaid than the potential mass destruction of a whole civilization. Priorities, right? While Trump’s incendiary remarks should have everyone in a tizzy, what do we get instead? A parade of lawmakers tweeting about everything but the elephant in the room. Apparently, it’s just another Tuesday in Washington—perfect weather for ignoring doomsday threats while sharing their favorite local sports team updates. Because, you know, that’s what really matters. Congress hasn’t officially met since March 27, which means Trump gets to play king without anyone challenging him. And instead of addressing the president’s wild claims, most lawmakers opted to pretend everything’s fine. Rep. Mike Lawler was busy with Easter egg rolls, while Sen. Jerry Moran was celebrating NASA missions. Real high-stakes stuff. Some Democrats eventually jumped on the outrage bandwagon, calling Trump “sick” and demanding an emergency session to “stop this madness.” You know, the usual drama. They even went as far as calling for impeachment—because that’s a quick fix for a giant mess. But let’s be real: how many of them were posting about their brunch plans while Trump was tossing around threats? A handful of Republicans expressed some concern, like Rep. Nathaniel Moran, who at least recognized that wiping out an entire civilization isn’t exactly “who we are.” But many in his party seem to think Trump’s style of negotiation is just “Trump being Trump.” You know, the guy who thinks threatening annihilation is a solid bargaining chip. Meanwhile, Trump is doubling down. He’s not backing down, and some Republicans are actually praising his “commander-in-chief” demeanor, as if that’s a good thing. Apparently, it’s better than “empty rhetoric,” which is rich coming from a guy who talks about erasing nations. As we watch this unfold, one has to wonder: is anyone actually in charge here? Or are we just stuck in a reality show where the stakes keep getting higher and the responses keep getting lower?
