**Trump Picks a Moderate in New Hampshire Senate Race — But Not Everyone’s Happy About It**

So, here’s the deal: Trump just threw his support behind former Sen. John E. Sununu for the open Senate seat in New Hampshire. Yep, you heard that right. A guy who’s been critical of Trump in the past now gets a big thumbs-up from the former president. Trump calls Sununu an “America First Patriot” on Truth Social, as if that wipes the slate clean for all the times Sununu didn’t exactly roll out the red carpet for him.

Sununu’s quick to thank Trump and talk about how he’s all about New Hampshire. “This campaign has and always will be about standing up for New Hampshire — every single day,” he says, as if he’s not just a footnote in Trump’s playbook.

Now, let’s not forget about Scott Brown, Trump’s former ambassador and the one who’s also gunning for this Senate seat. He’s not taking the news lying down. Brown claims he’s the true champion of the MAGA agenda, accusing Sununu of being wishy-washy when it comes to the movement. “I am running to ensure our America First agenda is led by someone who views this mission not as a career path,” he posts on X, which is just a fancy way of saying he’s in it for the long haul—unlike Sununu, who he implies is just playing politics.

Both of these guys are looking to take on Democratic Rep. Chris Pappas, who seems pretty unfazed by the whole Trump endorsement drama. His response? “I’m Chris Pappas, and I approve this message.” Real original, right? His campaign manager is already taking shots at Sununu, claiming he’ll just sell out New Hampshire for his political ambitions.

It’s rich, considering Sununu used to be a Kasich fan and said some pretty harsh things about Trump in the past. Republicans were all about flipping this Senate seat, which has changed hands a few times in recent years. Sununu’s got endorsements from a ton of GOP senators and even some local bigwigs. But wait—there’s a twist. Some of Trump’s die-hard fans in New Hampshire are not having it. They’re calling Trump’s endorsement a betrayal, claiming the Sununu family has mocked the MAGA movement. One group of activists says they’ll ramp up opposition against Sununu.

Polling shows Sununu leading Brown significantly in the GOP primary. But here’s the kicker: In a hypothetical matchup against Pappas, both Republicans are trailing. Pappas has a hefty war chest compared to both candidates, having raised more than double what Sununu did last quarter.

So, here we are: a moderate candidate backed by Trump, who’s not exactly won over the MAGA crowd, all while facing a tough battle against a Democrat who’s raking in cash. Sounds like a classic political circus, doesn’t it? Just another day in the land of “trust us, we know what’s best for you.”

But hey, at least we can all sit back and enjoy the show—because watching them trip over their own contradictions is always entertaining, isn’t it?
