### Why Are Gas Prices Still High If Oil Is Cheaper? So, oil prices are dropping as more ships start sailing through the Strait of Hormuz again. Great, right? Time to celebrate the end of high gas prices! But wait—what’s this? Americans are still getting walloped at the pump. Apparently, the oil price drop hasn’t made its way to your neighborhood gas station. Huh, funny how that works. It’s like when your favorite restaurant has a sale, but they still charge you full price because, well, they can. It seems the folks in charge just can’t resist keeping prices high, even when the supply chain is more stable. Maybe they think we won’t notice? Or perhaps they believe we’re too busy to care. Spoiler alert: we notice. So, while traders might be patting themselves on the back for a slight dip in oil prices, the rest of us are left wondering why our wallets are still crying. Isn’t it convenient how that works? Here’s a thought—when will the price at the pump finally reflect the actual cost of oil? Or should we just accept that we’re in for another round of “trust us, it’s complicated”?
