### Another Day, Another Protest: “No Kings” Rallies Planned Across America
So, over 3,000 “No Kings” protests are set for Saturday. Apparently, the organizers think it’s a good idea to take to the streets and oppose everything from U.S. military actions in Iran to Trump’s immigration policies and economic plans. Because, of course, the best way to express disagreement is to gather in large numbers and chant loudly.
These nonviolent demonstrations are supposed to span from coast to coast. Yes, even in the far reaches of Alaska and Puerto Rico, where I’m sure locals are just thrilled to join in. It’s almost like they want to make sure every corner of the country is covered in signs and slogans—because who doesn’t love a crowded street with a bunch of people shouting about politics?
What’s really fascinating is the laundry list of grievances, suggesting that dissent is as easy as gathering a crowd and waving some banners. But here’s a thought: instead of just protesting, maybe some of these folks could share their ideas on what they’d like to see instead. Just a crazy idea.
So, gear up for the weekend, folks. It’ll be a spectacle. But let’s not pretend these protests are magically going to change anything in the grand scheme of things. At least it’ll give people something to do, right? What’s next, a coordinated sit-in to disagree with gravity?
