### Can We Just End This DHS Shutdown Already?
So, here we are again. Another meeting’s happening, and it’s all about figuring out how to end the shutdown of the Department of Homeland Security. Because apparently, talking about it is way easier than actually doing something.
Tom Homan, the guy who was President Trump’s border czar (remember that title?), is chatting it up with some top Senate appropriators and a few other senators. This isn’t their first rodeo, either; it’s the second gathering of this same group in just two days. Clearly, they’re really committed to solving this issue—right after they finish their coffee and maybe a few rounds of back-patting.
What’s the hold-up, you ask? Who knows! But it’s always fun to watch politicians act like they’re working hard while the rest of us wonder why we even bother paying their salaries. Maybe they’ll come up with a brilliant plan, or maybe they’ll just come up with more excuses. Either way, it’s just another day in the life of Washington.
So, how many meetings does it take to end a shutdown? At this point, it feels like we should just hand out participation trophies.
