Classic politician: “She did the right thing in stepping down.” Sure, Hakeem, let’s not get into the messy details of accountability.
And then, just to lighten the mood a bit, the junior reporters asked him about his favorite candy (sugar-free Hershey’s, which sounds like a punishment) and what he wanted to be when he grew up (a Knicks point guard or hip-hop star, because why not aim high?).
But it wasn’t all fun and games. When asked, “What’s next?” Jeffries pivoted back to the party line, declaring that Democrats are “fighting one battle after another” against the “extremism” supposedly unleashed by Trump and his “colleagues on the other side.”
