### House Committee Wants to Grill Acting AG About Epstein Files—Surprise, Surprise
So, the House Oversight Committee is itching to have a chat with acting Attorney General Todd Blanche about those oh-so-intriguing Jeffrey Epstein files. Chair James Comer is leading the charge, because why wouldn’t he want to poke around in something that smells like a scandal?
Blanche, freshly nominated by Trump for the AG gig, is apparently the guy who oversaw the release of the Epstein materials when he was Pam Bondi’s deputy. And guess what? There were delays and messy redactions. Shocking, I know. Comer’s all about getting some answers, especially regarding any documents that might still be lurking in the shadows.
But here’s where it gets spicy: the timing. Blanche needs every Republican vote he can muster to become the nation’s top prosecutor, and now he’s got to sit down and answer questions about a case that’s bound to raise eyebrows. Democrats are already getting a bit fidgety, demanding that he be under oath and on camera. Because just talking to him isn’t enough; they want the whole show for the public to see.
Meanwhile, Comer is also looking to hear from Alan Dershowitz. You know, the lawyer who represented Epstein and claims he can’t remember much beyond Groff’s secretarial duties. Classic.
And oh, by the way, the Justice Department is playing the silent game, not responding to requests for comments. Because why would they want to clarify anything when everything is already so wonderfully murky?
So, are we really going to get any answers, or is this just another circus act? Maybe the real question is: how many more high-profile names are going to pop up before this whole thing is over?
