### Let’s Not Send Troops to Iran, Shall We?
Rep. Jake Auchincloss (D-Mass.) spoke out this weekend about the whole idea of sending American troops to Iran. You know, just in case anyone thought that might be a great plan. He pointed out that putting boots on the ground in Iran or on Kharg Island could open the door to a prolonged conflict. Because, of course, nothing says “we’ve learned from history” quite like rushing into another war.
Meanwhile, President Trump has been keeping the invasion option on the table. But don’t worry! He’s also been casually suggesting that Operation Epic Fury was… well, something. Maybe we’ll get a clearer idea of what that means in a press release or two.
So, we’re left with a classic case of mixed messages. On one hand, we have warnings about the dangers of escalation, and on the other, we have talk of potential invasions. Makes you wonder if anyone in charge has a cohesive plan or if they’re just hoping for the best.
In the end, how many more times do we need to hear about “boots on the ground” before we realize it usually leads to a messy situation? Just a thought.
