### House GOP Hardliners Ready to Blow Up FISA Extension Over Broken Promises So, here we are again. House Republicans, especially the hardliners, are gearing up to throw a tantrum over the proposed five-year extension of FISA. Yep, the same folks who claim to be all about accountability are now the ones threatening to derail it. Apparently, they’re not thrilled about the “inexplicable” length of the extension, the so-called “fake warrant requirement,” and what they see as a betrayal—negotiations that promised to block a central bank digital currency but didn’t deliver. Translation: it’s all a big mess of political gamesmanship. They’re mad because they feel duped, and rather than working on real solutions, they’re ready to take their ball and go home. Talk about a productive use of time. It’s amusing, really. The same party that often touts the need for surveillance is now clutching their pearls over how long they want to extend it. Meanwhile, the public is left wondering why we keep having the same debates over and over, with no real end in sight. At this point, is anyone surprised? It seems like Congress is just a glorified soap opera, where the stakes are national security, but the plot twists are more predictable than ever.
