### Headline: Billionaire Claims He Knew Nothing About Epstein, So Just Trust Him Les Wexner, the billionaire businessman and former buddy of Jeffrey Epstein, is really leaning into the whole “I had no idea” narrative. In a statement that honestly sounds like it was crafted by a public relations team, he insists he cut ties with Epstein nearly twenty years ago—right around the time he discovered Epstein was a “crook” and a “liar.” Because, of course, who wouldn’t cut off a friendship with a guy like that? Wexner testified behind closed doors to the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee, which is investigating Epstein and the Justice Department’s handling of his case. Spoiler alert: No revelations here, folks. He claims he never witnessed any criminal activity, which is convenient considering he was once a major player in Epstein’s financial world. House Democrats, on a mission to paint Wexner as the grand enabler of Epstein’s misdeeds, threw around some serious accusations. Rep. Robert Garcia claimed Wexner funneled over a billion dollars to Epstein. That’s not pocket change, folks. He asserted, “Mr. Epstein would not be the wealthy man he was without the support of Les Wexner.” But don’t worry, Wexner says he was just a victim of Epstein’s cunning charm—totally oblivious to what was happening right under his nose. Meanwhile, Rep. Stephen Lynch noted that Wexner’s knowledge about Epstein seemed to dwindle with every question asked during the deposition. It’s almost as if the more they probed, the foggier Wexner’s memory became. Funny how that works. No Republicans showed up to the deposition, which is a whole other can of worms. Wexner’s relationship with Epstein started innocently enough: Epstein offered some financial advice as a “favor.” Sure, because that’s how all billionaire friendships begin, right? When it became clear that Epstein was skimming money from Wexner’s family, they reportedly severed ties entirely. But, of course, Epstein never admitted to any wrongdoing. The saga continues. As the Oversight Committee prepares to release the video and transcript of Wexner’s testimony—because who doesn’t want to relive this drama?—both sides are assuring the public that Wexner was completely honest. Because when billionaires say they’re innocent, who needs evidence? So, here’s the kicker: Can we really take Wexner’s claims at face value? Or are we supposed to just accept that a billionaire could be so oblivious to the actions of his close friend? You know what they say—money can’t buy you common sense.
