### “Justice Department Bails Out Bannon—What a Surprise!” So, the Justice Department has suddenly decided to take a step back and wipe the slate clean for Steve Bannon, who you might remember as a prominent Trump buddy. He’s got this pesky conviction hanging over him for dodging a subpoena from the House committee probing the January 6 Capitol riot. But hey, who needs accountability, right? In a pretty blunt court filing, U.S. Attorney for the District of Columbia Jeanine Pirro asked a judge to toss out the two-count indictment against Bannon. Funny how these things work out—one minute you’re facing charges, and the next, the government decides it’s just too much trouble to pursue them. Why the change of heart? It’s not like the Justice Department hasn’t had its hands full with other pressing issues. Oh wait, they haven’t really solved those either. You have to wonder what’s really going on behind the scenes. Maybe some high-level meetings decided that letting Bannon off the hook is just more convenient. But sure, let’s all pretend this is about “justice” and not a case of selective prosecution. It’s almost as if the entire system exists to protect certain people while throwing the book at others. You have to love the timing—Bannon’s conviction gets a do-over when it’s politically expedient. Makes you think: if you’re on the “right” side of the political aisle, do you get a free pass? Or is it just that the whole thing is one big game, and we’re all just stuck watching?
