### “Commerce Secretary in Hot Water Over Epstein Ties — Again” So, Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick is once again in the spotlight, and not for anything good. He’s facing bipartisan pressure to step down after being linked to none other than convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein. Who didn’t see this coming? Sen. Adam Schiff wasted no time, claiming that Lutnick “lied” about how deep his connection to Epstein really goes. Lutnick has been playing it cool, insisting back in 2005 he’d never share a room with Epstein again. You know, classic “I swear I won’t do it again” moment. But surprise, surprise—newly released Justice Department files show he was still in touch with Epstein and even planned a little getaway to Epstein’s Caribbean paradise. Sounds like a real commitment to that promise, huh? Schiff didn’t hold back, stating that Lutnick’s “lies” raise serious questions about his judgment and ethics. He’s certainly not alone in calling for Lutnick’s resignation; a whole team of bipartisan House members is piling on. But here’s the kicker: it doesn’t look like Lutnick is packing his bags anytime soon. White House spokesperson Kush Desai responded to the outcry with a glowing review of President Trump’s cabinet—because apparently, that’s the priority here. “Best and most transformative,” he says. Sure, let’s ignore the circus for a moment and focus on the “deliverables” for the American people. You know, like keeping known associates of Epstein in high office. House Oversight Chair James Comer is also on the case, but he’s got his hands full with other subpoenas—because why prioritize a potential scandal when there are other subpoenas to deal with, right? And just to keep the pressure on, Rep. Thomas Massie chimed in, suggesting Lutnick should do everyone a favor and just resign. Meanwhile, top Democrats are also demanding answers. It’s almost as if there’s a consensus that having someone with Epstein ties in charge of anything is a bad look. So, here we are, watching a parade of officials demand Lutnick’s head while he casually continues to hold his position. Isn’t it nice when the system works? Or should we just wait for the next scandal to distract us from this one?
