### Why Is No One Asking the Right Questions About Lutnick and Epstein?
Attorney General Pam Bondi had quite the diplomatic dance-off when Rep. Becca Balint pressed her about whether the Justice Department had bothered to grill Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick about his cozy connections with Jeffrey Epstein. Spoiler alert: she didn’t answer. Instead, she deflected, insisting that Lutnick himself had already addressed the issue. Well, isn’t that convenient?
Lutnick claims he was appalled by Epstein’s behavior and promised back in 2005 to avoid him like the plague. Yet, surprise, surprise—documents released by the Justice Department reveal that the two were still in cahoots for years afterward. You can practically hear the collective eye-roll.
But wait, it gets better. Lutnick casually admitted to a Senate hearing that he and his family vacationed on Epstein’s Caribbean island in 2012. And just in case you forgot, Epstein was a convicted sex offender who, tragically, met his end while awaiting trial on federal sex-trafficking charges. But hey, who doesn’t enjoy a little lunch with a notorious financier?
Despite these eyebrow-raising revelations, Lutnick seems to have skated through the Trump administration with minimal scrutiny. Balint pressed Bondi for clarity on whether anyone in the Trump universe, including Lutnick, has been questioned about their “ties” to Epstein. Bondi decided to play semantics, asking Balint to define “ties.” Really?
Balint shot back, reminding Bondi that Americans might be surprised to find out that the Justice Department isn’t interested in talking to officials with Epstein connections. And with Lutnick’s island getaway, one has to wonder: how on earth was that not a dealbreaker for the president?
So, are we really supposed to believe that there’s nothing to see here? Because that’s a tough sell.
