### The Strait of Hormuz: Open for Business, Unless You’re America
So, Virginia Senator Tim Kaine thinks the Strait of Hormuz should be open to all shipping traffic. Groundbreaking stuff, right? After Iran decided to close this critical waterway due to what they call a U.S. blockade, Kaine hopped on Fox News to share his hot take.
Here’s the kicker: he claims, “If they’re going to be open, I think they have to be open to all.” Brilliant observation, Senator! It’s almost like he’s saying that if you close a major shipping route, it should be open to, I don’t know, everyone? How very radical of him.
Let’s not ignore the fact that this is the same Strait that Iran uses to flex its muscles against the U.S. and its allies whenever it suits them. But sure, let’s pretend this is just a straightforward case of fairness.
Kaine’s comments come at a time when tensions are high, but hey, who needs context when you can just throw out a soundbite that sounds good on a Sunday morning?
So, will the Strait be open for U.S. interests, or is it just a free-for-all for everyone else? Maybe we should ask the people actually using it. Or, you know, maybe not.
