### Trump Praises Rand Paul, But Why Should We Care? So here’s the latest from the political circus: President Trump decided to give a shoutout to Sen. Rand Paul for backing the construction of a fancy new ballroom in the White House. Yes, you read that right—while many Americans are worried about inflation, crime, and the cost of living, our leaders are focused on expanding their party space. Trump tossed out some compliments to the National Capital Planning Commission (NCPC) and their “hardworking” members for getting this project approved. How noble of him to appreciate bureaucrats when most of us are just trying to figure out how to heat our homes this winter. But let’s take a second to think about this. Why is a ballroom even on the agenda right now? Is this really the best use of resources? While the government is busy planning parties, I guess we can all just pretend that our own issues will magically vanish. It’s not just about the ballroom, though. This is classic Washington: politicians patting each other on the back while the rest of us are left wondering why we should care. You get the sense that if they could, they’d charge us an entry fee to their little dance party. At the end of the day, it’s hard not to roll your eyes. Are we really supposed to applaud a senator and a former president for prioritizing a ballroom over the pressing concerns of everyday Americans? Just another day in the land of the political elite, I suppose.
