### “Surprise! Rep. Dunn Won’t Quit—At Least Not Yet”
So, Rep. Neal Dunn isn’t resigning early after all. A spokesperson just had to clarify that he plans to stick around for the rest of his term. This announcement comes after whispers in the halls of Congress suggested he might bail, which would have put the GOP majority in jeopardy. Because, of course, nothing says “dedicated public servant” quite like a last-minute decision to stay on the job amid health issues and retirement announcements.
Speaker Mike Johnson had to step in and encourage Dunn to hang tight. It’s nice to see House leadership caring so much about their majority, isn’t it? One would think they’d be more concerned about representing the people rather than keeping their seats warm.
The spokesperson, Eleanor Allison, had to assure us that Dunn is committed to his constituents. But isn’t it curious that the need for reassurance even exists? The timing of these reassurances feels a bit like a PR stunt to calm the waters. It’s almost as if they’re trying to distract from the fact that his health issues are a real concern.
In the end, we’ve got a politician clinging to his position while everyone pretends this is a noble act of service. So, what happens when the going gets tough? Do we really believe he’s going to stick around for the tough discussions, or is this just a temporary reprieve until he decides to pull the parachute?
