### “House Hearing Turns Into a Showdown as AG Goes Full Drama Queen”
So, the House Judiciary Committee hearing with Attorney General Pam Bondi was a real spectacle. Democrats waltzed in expecting a non-responsive performance, and boy, did they get one. For four long hours, Bondi dodged questions about the Justice Department’s handling of the Jeffrey Epstein files like a pro boxer avoiding punches.
Instead of giving straight answers, she flipped the script, asking lawmakers if they cared about crime in their districts while flipping through her “burn book” of research—what, no diary entries? Meanwhile, she unleashed a personal attack on Rep. Jamie Raskin, calling him a “washed-up, loser lawyer.” Classy move, Pam.
After the circus ended, Raskin lamented that Congress deserves better than this “disrespect.” But here’s a thought: if the Democrats want to play hardball, they might want to focus on winning elections instead of whining about how they’re treated.
Even if they reclaim control in 2026, don’t count on Bondi playing nice. She’s already shown she’s not one for cooperation, and Rep. Joe Neguse pointed out that what was supposed to be a standard oversight hearing was anything but that.
The only new tidbit Bondi dropped came from a Republican, Rep. Chip Roy, who asked if people would be indicted for their ties to Epstein. Bondi vaguely said there were “pending investigations,” but wasn’t clear if that included any prominent Democratic figures. Convenient, isn’t it?
Democrats think Bondi’s combative performance will help them in the midterms. After all, who wouldn’t want to rally around a cause that paints them as the victims of a hostile AG? Even Judiciary Chair Jim Jordan had to step in to remind everyone that there was a point to the hearing beyond Bondi’s personal vendettas.
Raskin sounded off on how embarrassing it was for the nation to see the AG act like an insult comic instead of addressing serious concerns. Rep. Steve Cohen piled on, saying Bondi’s antics were all about appealing to one audience: Donald Trump. Because nothing screams “public service” like catering to a former president’s whims.
In a last-ditch effort to regain some seriousness, Democrats even arranged for Epstein’s victims to be present. They offered Bondi a chance to apologize or meet with them, but she refused, saying she wouldn’t “get in the gutter.” So much for empathy.
With all the drama, Bondi unwittingly handed the Democrats a gift, all while Democrats tried to draw a stark contrast between their focus on accountability and Republicans’ more lackadaisical approach. Rep. Dan Goldman had to shout at Bondi to “be quiet,” and Rep. Chuy Garcia called her one of the worst AGs ever.
Jordan, on the other hand, thought Bondi did just fine, claiming that crime is down under her watch. Sure, let’s stick to that line while ignoring the chaos of the hearing.
The only Republican who dared to challenge Bondi was Rep. Thomas Massie, who’s apparently not afraid to step on Trump’s toes. He accused her of not complying with the law and pulling some shady redactions. Bondi fired back, calling him a “failed politician.”
Massie had the best line of the day, saying it took Bondi “a long time to find my insult card.” Touché. It seems like everyone’s more interested in throwing shade than addressing the serious issues at hand.
So, can we just agree that this whole hearing was more about theatrics than accountability? How about we focus on real justice instead of who can dish out the best insults?
