### Mitch McConnell Checks Into the Hospital—But Don’t Worry, He’s Fine!
Senator Mitch McConnell took a little trip to the hospital Monday night because he had some “flu-like symptoms,” or at least that’s what his spokesperson wants us to believe. He didn’t show up for Senate votes on Monday and Tuesday, which is kind of a big deal if you’re in the business of making laws.
Now, let’s not forget McConnell is a polio survivor and has had his fair share of mobility issues lately. He’s been stumbling around the Capitol halls, often needing help to get around. Last year, he even announced he won’t be running for reelection, which might have something to do with those public struggles.
His spokesperson, David Popp, assures us that McConnell’s “prognosis is positive” and he’s still chatting with his staff. So, it sounds like he’ll be back to his Senate duties soon enough, but you have to wonder—why the sudden hospital trip?
Maybe it’s just precautionary, but let’s not pretend this isn’t raising eyebrows. After all, how often do we hear about politicians getting “flu-like symptoms” and then taking a little vacation?
But hey, I’m sure everything’s fine, just like the last time they told us everything was fine. Just another day in the political circus, right?
