**Headline: Senators Want to Play Tough on Russian Oil—But What’s the Real Plan?** So, here we go again. Sens. Jeanne Shaheen and Elizabeth Warren are waving their arms and yelling at the Trump administration, demanding that it lets a waiver on Russian oil sanctions expire. Because clearly, that’s the magic wand for solving global conflicts. Shaheen, with all the urgency of a kid waiting for a cookie, insists that the current license for Russian oil should not get a renewal. Sure, let’s just cut off Russian oil and pretend that’ll fix everything, right? Meanwhile, it’s a little rich coming from politicians who love to tout their commitment to “fighting for the people” while ignoring the gas prices back home. What are they really after here? Is it a genuine concern about Russia, or just another chance to posture for the cameras while voters are left holding the bag? It’s almost like they think we won’t notice the double standards when it comes to energy policy versus, oh, I don’t know, the big oil companies that are lining their pockets. And let’s not forget that sanctions are a great political tool until they start hitting American wallets. So, what happens when gas prices go through the roof? Are these senators ready to explain that to the voters who just wanted a break at the pump? In the end, it’s easy to call for tough measures when you’re not the one paying the bills. But let’s be real—how about some actual solutions instead of just grandstanding? Or is that too much to ask?
