### The Ebola Outbreak? Thanks, Trump. Or Maybe Not. So, here we are: another Ebola outbreak in Central Africa, and the media is quick to point fingers at the Trump administration’s cuts to global health programs. Apparently, when the U.S. decided to take a step back from the global health stage, it opened the floodgates for diseases. Experts are saying they can feel the absence. How convenient. Let’s break this down. The article claims that the lack of U.S. presence is why the current outbreak is so serious. But isn’t it a bit rich to pin this solely on Trump’s policies? It’s not like the world was a health utopia before he took office. The same experts love to overlook the fact that outbreaks happen regardless of who’s in charge. Sure, the U.S. is sending resources and teams of experts to help out. But can we talk about the timing? It’s almost as if the media is using this outbreak to push an agenda, rather than just reporting the facts. They want you to believe that the U.S. is suddenly the cavalry riding in to save the day. Meanwhile, they conveniently gloss over what’s missing in the narrative: the longstanding challenges of global health that didn’t just pop up last year. So here’s a thought: instead of using this outbreak as a political football, how about we focus on the fact that infectious diseases don’t care about political decisions? They’ll keep spreading while we argue over who’s to blame. And at the end of the day, which one of these “experts” is actually going to take responsibility when another outbreak hits? Just wondering.
