The January 9, edition of WWE SmackDown is set to air from Berlin, Germany. The main event will feature Drew McIntyre taking on Cody Rhodes in a Three Stages of Hell Match for the WWE Championship.

Fans have been clamoring for the Scottish Warrior to finally win the championship, but the outcome remains uncertain. On that note, here are four potential endings to tonight’s episode of SmackDown.

4. Cody Rhodes could stand tall as the WWE Champion

With WrestleMania 42 just a few months away, the company might not want to take the title off of its top babyface. Cody Rhodes has become the Quarterback of WWE since his return a few years ago, and is the man the company relies on the most.

Will Drew leave WWE if they don’t do this? Check Now!

As a result, the creative team could book him to retain his title in the main event of the show. After a grueling battle with his bitter rival, Rhodes could finally stand tall over McIntyre to end the show. The last few weeks have been very difficult for The American Nightmare, and he could exact revenge for all the personal insults tonight.

3. Drew McIntyre could celebrate his title win

As the man who picked the stipulation, Drew McIntyre could emerge victorious over his rival tonight. In doing so, he could finally dethrone Cody Rhodes in his third attempt.

Rhodes and McIntyre will surely put each other through hell in their battle and the Scottish Warrior could simply pose with the title as the show goes off air.

2. Randy Orton could confront Cody Rhodes if he retains

Last week, Randy Orton made it clear that he would be coming after the WWE Championship. The Viper has been spotted eyeing the title on several occasions, but finally told Cody Rhodes of his desire to challenge for the title last week on SmackDown.

If The American Nightmare defeats McIntyre to retain his title, he could be confronted by his next challenger. Orton could send a message to Rhodes by laying him out with an RKO to end SmackDown. This way, the attention would go right to the highly anticipated feud between the two former Legacy teammates.

1. Jacob Fatu could return to WWE SmackDown to take out Drew McIntyre

Jacob Fatu was mysteriously taken out right before his Number One Contender’s Match against Drew McIntyre on SmackDown a few months ago. The Scottish Warrior has denied being responsible for the assault, but it could come back to bite him tonight.

Reports suggest that the Samoan Werewolf is close to making his return to WWE, and it could happen as soon as this week. If he indeed comes back to programming tonight, he could enter his first storyline back by taking out Drew McIntyre.

This scenario could work regardless of whether McIntyre wins the title. If he dethrones Rhodes, he will have his first challenger right away. Otherwise, he could restart his Bloodline Hunter arc by feuding with the Samoan Werewolf, who was once part of The Bloodline with Solo Sikoa.
