### Hard-Right House Threats? Not So Much
So, some hard-right House Republicans thought they could hold the Senate hostage until their SAVE America Act got the green light. Spoiler alert: it didn’t work.
Instead, we saw Sen. Joni Ernst’s bill to reauthorize small business grant programs cruise through the Senate with a cozy 345-41 vote. Oh, and let’s not forget about that other Senate bill which, for some reason, was super important to pass — recovering art stolen by Nazis — that also sailed through on a voice vote.
Seems like the hard-right’s grandstanding didn’t exactly scare anyone into submission. Instead, it looks like they’re just shouting into the void while the actual business of governance keeps moving along without them.
Is anyone else wondering if these threats were just a desperate attempt to grab headlines? Because, spoiler alert, they definitely didn’t get what they wanted.
