### “Senators Play Musical Chairs with Fed Nominee While We Wait for Answers” So, here we are. Senator Thom Tillis is “hopeful” about getting Kevin Warsh into the Federal Reserve chair position, but let’s be real: that’s just a fancy way of saying, “don’t hold your breath.” Tillis is hitting the brakes because he’s not keen on moving forward with any Fed picks until the Justice Department wraps up its little investigation into Jerome Powell, the current chair. You know, because nothing screams efficiency like a government probe. Tillis says he’s optimistic things will get sorted out. But “optimistic” is just a nice way of saying he’s crossing his fingers and hoping for the best. Meanwhile, Warsh is busy playing the Senate meet-and-greet game, having chats with various senators like he’s running for class president or something. He met with Senator John Barrasso last week, and now he’s on the calendar for Senator Mike Rounds. Great, more socializing—just what we need in a time of uncertainty. Then there’s Senator Bill Hagerty, who’s known Warsh since college. Cool story, bro. But unless their college hangouts included discussions on monetary policy, it’s hard to see how that matters now. And here’s the kicker: the Senate Banking Committee hasn’t even bothered to schedule a hearing for Warsh’s nomination. So, while we wait for the bureaucratic wheels to turn, it’s clear that when it comes to the Fed, the only thing moving fast is the political posturing. Isn’t it comforting to know that while the economy might be in a rocky patch, our senators are busy playing footsie instead of addressing real issues?
