### Nebraska’s Election: Another Day, Another Underdog So, here we go again. Sen. Pete Ricketts, your typical Republican incumbent from Nebraska, is gearing up for a general election against Dan Osborn, an independent who apparently has enough buzz to stir things up. Let’s not forget that Osborn, a mechanic and veteran, almost kicked Sen. Deb Fischer to the curb last cycle. What’s that say about Ricketts? The Democrats are rubbing their hands together, hoping Osborn can pull off the upset this fall in a state that Trump won by a comfortable margin. Because, of course, the plan is to find a candidate who isn’t even a Democrat to take down the Republican. Genius strategy, right? It’s like we’re all supposed to sit back and be amazed that a mechanic-turned-candidate can shake things up in a sea of red. But here’s a thought: should we really be surprised that voters might want an alternative to the same old faces? In the end, it’s just another election season where the establishment pretends there’s a nail-biting contest happening, while most of us are left wondering if anyone in power actually represents our interests. But hey, at least it’ll give us something to talk about over dinner. Will it be change we can believe in, or just more of the same?
