### “So They’re Redrawing Maps Again? Shocking!” Alabama’s Republican Governor Kay Ivey is at it again, trying to shuffle the political deck just after the Supreme Court gave the green light to a 2023 map that features a grand total of one majority-Black district. Because, of course, why wouldn’t they want to keep things interesting by pushing back primaries in four Congressional districts? Nothing says democracy like a little last-minute cartography. And guess what? Other states are also jumping on the bandwagon, looking to redraw their own maps after the Supreme Court’s decision. It’s almost like they think they can just tweak the lines and magically solve all their problems. NAACP President Derrick Johnson is making the media rounds to discuss this whole mess. But let’s be real: how many times do we need to hear from people in suits about how this affects the community without actually talking to anyone from the community? In the end, it’s just another day of political maneuvering, where the people get the short end of the stick, and the power players continue to play their games. Isn’t it cute how they think we’re not paying attention?
