### Iran Says ‘Thanks, But No Thanks’ to Direct Talks with the U.S. So, here we are again. Iran just made it clear it won’t be sitting down with the U.S. during the upcoming talks in Pakistan. This comes right after the White House confidently announced that a meeting was on the table. Classic game of telephone, isn’t it? Iran’s foreign ministry spokesperson, Esmaeil Baqaei, laid it out: no meeting is happening, and any thoughts they have will be passed through the mediators. That’s right—no face-to-face chats, just a nice game of diplomatic relay. One can’t help but wonder how the White House got it so wrong. Did they just assume that Iran would be eager to chat? Or maybe they thought a casual dinner invitation would do the trick? It’s almost charming how optimistic they seem—if you ignore the fact that this isn’t the first time they’ve misread the room. So, what’s the real story here? Are the U.S. and Iran really that far apart, or is this just part of their ongoing dance? Either way, it’s clear that communication isn’t exactly flowing smoothly. At this point, can anyone really expect diplomacy to be anything but a complicated game of “You go first”?
