### “Rep. Clyde Wants a Slice of the Anti-Weaponization Pie”
So, Rep. Andrew Clyde thinks the new $1.8 billion “anti-weaponization” fund from the DOJ is a great idea. He’s not just a fan; he’s also keeping his options open to grab some of that cash for himself.
In an interview, Clyde emphasized that the fund aims to “make whole” those who’ve been unfairly targeted by the government. Yes, this includes folks who decided to storm the Capitol on January 6, 2021. Because nothing screams victim quite like a rioter seeking reparations.
When asked if he’d personally go after some of that sweet, sweet government money, he played it coy, insisting the fund is for “anyone” wronged by the government. How generous!
But let’s not forget Clyde’s own history. He claims he’s been in the crosshairs of the IRS and suffered a civil asset forfeiture that nearly hit the million-dollar mark. He did manage to win back a chunk of that money after a court battle, but he’s still got those pesky legal fees hanging over him.
So, to recap: a politician advocating for a fund designed to help victims of government overreach—while conveniently leaving open the door for himself to cash in. Isn’t that just how it always goes? If this isn’t a classic case of “I’ll help you, but first let me help myself,” then I don’t know what is.
