### Here We Go Again: Trump’s Budget Wish List Hits Congress Late So, Trump’s gearing up to drop his budget request on Congress, and surprise, surprise, it’s not exactly on time. Set for April 3, this is just a tad over two months late. But hey, who’s counting? Apparently, Congress is, as they’re stuck trying to figure out their funding bills without his input. Now, let’s talk turkey: the budget is supposed to be a whopping $1.5 trillion for defense. That’s $500 billion more than what the Pentagon is currently working with. You know, just a casual bump for our military spending. And while we’re on the subject of military cash, there’s talk about a $200 billion supplemental request to support our “interests” in Iran. Because nothing says “let’s solve our problems peacefully” like throwing cash at military action. The White House has been mulling over this Pentagon request for more than a week. Because why rush when you can take your time with a $200 billion decision? Meanwhile, Congress is stuck waiting around, fidgeting like kids in a classroom while the teacher is late. So, what’s the takeaway? The budget might be nonbinding, but good luck getting anything done without it. Maybe next time, they’ll remember that deadlines are there for a reason. But then again, who needs a functioning government when you can just keep pushing the ball down the road? Isn’t that how everything gets done these days?
