### Here We Go Again: GOP Worries About War Messing with Their Votes So, here we are. The Republicans are crossing their fingers that the latest military operation against Iran doesn’t turn into another never-ending quagmire, especially with the 2026 midterms looming. Because, of course, the last thing any party wants is a messy war to tank their chances at the ballot box. Surprise, surprise, they’re mostly on board with Trump’s decision to strike Iran. Nothing says party unity quite like a potential war, right? But wait—there was a war powers resolution floating around that could have forced Trump to get Congress involved. Just imagine that: actually involving the legislature in decisions about military action. What a concept. But, it seems the GOP is more interested in keeping their electoral prospects intact than rocking the boat. Isn’t it funny how the stakes for them are all about votes and not about the lives that could be affected? You have to wonder: when do we start caring about the consequences of these decisions? Or is it just a game of political survival?
