### DOJ Throws in the Towel on Trump’s Legal Orders
So, the Department of Justice has decided to take a little breather from its attempts to defend Trump’s executive orders aimed at some of the country’s big-name law firms. You know, the ones that probably charge more per hour than some people make in a week.
In a stunning turn of events, the DOJ has dropped its appeals against four federal court rulings that pushed back against these orders aimed at Perkins Coie, WilmerHale, Jenner & Block, and Susman Godfrey. Apparently, the DOJ figured it was better to retreat than to keep trying to make a case against the legal heavyweights.
Let’s not forget that these orders were trying to shake things up in the legal world, but it seems the courts weren’t having it. It’s like trying to pick a fight with a bear and realizing halfway through that maybe you should just stick to poking the bear on Twitter instead.
So, what’s the takeaway here? The DOJ just walked away from a battle it clearly wasn’t winning. But hey, who needs accountability when you can just pivot and call it a day, right?
If the goal was to undercut some top law firms, maybe next time they should think about hiring a lawyer who actually knows how to win a case.
