### Pokémon Turns 30: Still Catching Them All, or Just Us? So, Pokémon is hitting the big 3-0, and everyone’s throwing a party. You’d think it’s the birth of a new generation, but really, it’s just nostalgia dressed up in a shiny new wrapper. Scott Stein from CNET hopped on “The Daily Report” to chat about how this franchise has morphed over the years, but let’s be real: it’s still about catching little creatures and battling your friends, just with fancier graphics. Stein rambled on about the evolution of Pokémon, but did anyone stop to ask why we’re still clinging to this? Thirty years of the same basic premise, and yet here we are, still excited as if it’s something groundbreaking. The franchise has had its ups and downs, sure, but it’s mostly been a case of keeping the same formula while slapping on a fresh coat of paint. And let’s not forget the marketing juggernaut it’s become. Merchandising is a whole universe of its own, turning kids into walking billboards for Pikachu. Are we celebrating creativity or the art of making a quick buck? Hard to tell sometimes. In the end, it’s just a reminder that sentimental value can often mask a lack of innovation. So, are we really in love with Pokémon, or just the memories of our childhood? Maybe it’s time to catch some new ideas instead of just catching ’em all.
