### U.S. Embassy in Lebanon: Another Day, Another Evacuation
So, the State Department has decided it’s time for non-essential staff to pack their bags and leave the U.S. embassy in Beirut. Tensions in the Middle East are apparently on the rise—shocking, right? It’s almost like there’s a pattern here.
And just when you thought it couldn’t get any more convoluted, we’ve got indirect talks between the U.S. and Iran scheduled for Geneva this Thursday. Because nothing screams “let’s work together” like moving your team out of the line of fire first.
Osamah Khalil from Syracuse University popped up on CBS News to share his thoughts on this delightful mess. I guess he’s the go-to guy when you need an expert opinion on why things are falling apart overseas.
Let’s just sit back and marvel at how these diplomatic “discussions” keep happening while tensions rise. Isn’t it comforting to know that while the folks in charge are making travel plans, they’re also trying to negotiate peace?
How’s that for prioritizing the important stuff?
