### “So, They Finally Show Up After a Double Murder?”
The bigwigs in charge of the immigration enforcement agencies decided to face Congress — not because they care about public opinion, mind you, but because federal officers recently killed two people in Minnesota, and the heat was getting a little too hot to handle.
Todd Lyons, the acting head of ICE, and other officials from Customs and Border Protection trotted out to answer questions about their practices. You know, the ones that have sparked a nationwide uproar. They’ve been raiding homes and snatching people up like it’s a clearance sale at a department store, and now they’re acting all surprised that folks are upset about it.
Instead of addressing real concerns, they stuck to their usual talking points, which seem to boil down to: “Trust us, we’re doing our best.” It’s always the same tune — they’re just following orders, right? Meanwhile, real people are suffering, and the officials show up as if they’ve just been handed a script.
Funny how they only seem to appear when the public outcry reaches a certain level, isn’t it? It’s almost like they’re more concerned about their jobs than the lives they’re impacting. But hey, who needs accountability when you can just blame the system?
In the end, it’s hard not to wonder: how many more tragedies will it take for these agencies to get their act together? Or are they just waiting for another crisis to roll out their well-rehearsed apologies?
