### “Senator vs. Pardon Attorney: A Twitter Feud That’s Just as Useless as It Sounds”
So, here we go again. A Republican senator and a pardon attorney are throwing around insults on social media like it’s high school all over again. This time, it’s Sen. Thom Tillis from North Carolina and Ed Martin, who seems to have taken the whole “drama” thing to a new level.
The spat kicked off when Tillis, who’s on his way out of the Senate in January, claimed Martin was no longer with the Justice Department. Spoiler alert: he was wrong. Martin didn’t take kindly to that and decided to remind Tillis of a recent phone call where the senator tried to block a pardon for one of his own constituents. Classic move, right?
Martin’s not-so-subtle dig about Tillis having “memory issues” for retirement is just the cherry on top of this petty cake. He also told the senator to “go to Hell” while proudly waving the “Drain the Swamp” banner. Ah yes, nothing says “I’m a serious political player” quite like telling your colleague to shove it.
Tillis, in his typical fashion, shot back with the timeless wisdom of being “hated by idiots.” Really? This is the standard we’re going with? It’s like watching two kids in a playground argue over who gets to sit in the best swing.
Let’s take a moment to appreciate the backstory. Tillis took a hard stance against Martin’s nomination as U.S. attorney because Martin dared to advocate for some folks involved in the January 6 debacle. Apparently, if you’re not on Team Tillis, you’re just a “loser.”
And if you thought this was just about personal insults, think again. Tillis was also busy trying to block a pardon for Greg Lindberg—a billionaire who defrauded North Carolinians and owes a hefty sum in restitution. It’s all so convenient, isn’t it?
In the end, we’ve got a couple of guys throwing shade in public while real issues simmer away. But hey, at least we’re entertained, right? Isn’t that what politics has come to—just a reality show with higher stakes and lower standards?
