### Michigan GOP Primary: The Same Old Game of Polling Showboating
So, U.S. Rep. John James is the “leading candidate” for the Michigan gubernatorial primary, according to some fresh polling from Glengariff Group, Inc. Shocking, right? James is sitting pretty with a cool 37 percent of the vote among likely GOP primary voters. Perry Johnson, that businessman we suddenly care about, is trailing with 19.8 percent.
But let’s not kid ourselves here. Polls are just snapshots of a moment in time, usually taken by people with a vested interest in making someone look good. It’s like measuring the temperature and ignoring that the weather can change the next minute.
What’s missing from this shiny little polling nugget? How about the context of why these candidates are even in the race? Or how many voters actually participated in this survey? It’s all conveniently left out.
The media loves to parade these numbers like they mean something profound when, in reality, they’re just another cog in the machine of political theater.
So, who’s really driving the narrative here? Is it the voters, or is it the pollsters? Maybe it’s time to stop nodding along and start asking some real questions.
