### House GOP Finally Gets Off the Couch, Plans to Vote… Maybe So, the House Rules Committee is dusting itself off at 1 p.m. today, and guess what? GOP leaders are feeling all warm and fuzzy about breaking the logjam that’s made the House floor feel like a ghost town. House Majority Leader Steve Scalise confidently declared, “We’re getting closer.” Closer to what, exactly? Who knows. The plan is to get Republicans to vote later on a few hot-button items: the Section 702 spy law, a budget resolution for Homeland Security, and, oh joy, the farm bill. Because nothing screams “urgent” like farming policies when the country’s got bigger fish to fry. And just to spice things up, Scalise mentioned they’re trying to sneak in a ban on central bank digital currencies, which is apparently a big deal for the conservative faithful. Because nothing says “we’re in touch with the people” like worrying about digital money while folks are just trying to make ends meet. Oh, and here’s a fun twist: Scalise mentioned there will be some late-night votes tonight. Why? Because King Charles III is addressing Congress this afternoon. Yes, you heard that right. The House is prioritizing royal visits over, well, just about everything else. So, as the GOP shuffles around trying to look busy, one has to wonder: do they think we’re buying this frantic energy, or is this just another case of “look over here while we figure out what to do next”?
