### So, a Hacker Walks Into Epstein’s House… Ah, the tangled web of tech and scandal. Vincenzo Iozzo, a hacker with a not-so-quiet reputation, was apparently in the habit of seeking advice on how to slip into Jeffrey Epstein’s New York lair without attracting too much attention. Because, you know, showing up at the home of a convicted sex offender is just another Tuesday for a cybersecurity expert. In a charmingly casual email, Iozzo wondered if he should don a disguise due to the “recent news” surrounding Epstein. This was just days after The Miami Herald dropped a bombshell about Epstein’s cushy plea deal from 2008 that kept his crimes under wraps for over a decade. And what did Epstein’s associate suggest? A hat and sunglasses, of course. Because nothing says “I’m definitely not here to discuss anything shady” quite like a baseball cap. Fast forward to the predictable conclusion of this sordid saga: Epstein was arrested on trafficking charges, then conveniently found dead in his cell. Official story? Suicide. Sure, let’s roll with that. Now, the relationship between Iozzo and Epstein is shrouded in mystery. Did Epstein want Iozzo to hack into the digital lives of his friends or foes? We may never know. But we do know that in 2017, an informant told the FBI that Epstein was sitting on some juicy “dirt on other people.” How comforting. Iozzo, who now runs a security firm, has been dodging requests for a comment. No surprises there. Documents from the Justice Department reveal he was mingling in Epstein’s world for at least four years, right in the middle of Epstein’s various legal troubles. Iozzo was introduced to Epstein in 2014 by Joichi Ito, who got cozy with Epstein himself and later resigned from MIT when the donations came to light. Iozzo was touted as “one of the best network security guys” around. Apparently, Epstein had a knack for making friends in high places. Emails between Iozzo and Epstein show a series of attempts to meet up, with Iozzo even suggesting he could teach Epstein’s entourage some cybersecurity skills. Because nothing screams “safety” quite like hanging out with a convicted sex offender. By 2017, the FBI was sniffing around the duo, thanks to a tipster who described Iozzo as Epstein’s “personal hacker.” How lovely. The informant claimed he developed “zero-day exploits” and sold them to governments. You know, just your average hacking résumé. In a delightful twist, Iozzo invited Epstein to the Black Hat conference in Las Vegas, a major cybersecurity event. Because if you’re going to rub elbows with a notorious sex offender, why not do it at a convention about hacking? CrowdStrike, one of Iozzo’s former employers, felt compelled to clarify that he hasn’t worked there since 2021. And Dan Guido, another tech CEO, jumped in to say he parted ways with Iozzo due to “wildly different ideas” for running a company. Sounds like a classic case of “I can’t be associated with this mess.” So what’s the takeaway? While the hacker world is buzzing with intrigue, the main question remains: how deep does the rabbit hole go, and why should the rest of us care? In the end, are we just supposed to accept that all this scandal is business as usual for the elite?
