### Are We Really Going to Start Sorting People Like Groceries?
So apparently, there’s a new trend in talking about people as if they’re just numbers on a balance sheet. You know, the classic “useful” versus “not useful” debate. This kind of talk is not just cringey; it’s a recipe for social chaos, and yet here we are, tiptoeing into that minefield.
The argument is that some folks just don’t contribute enough economically, so they should be sidelined. Really? Because last I checked, human beings are more than just their economic output. But I guess someone forgot to tell the “experts” that we’re not all just cogs in a machine.
Let’s be clear: treating people like commodities is a slippery slope. It’s a nice way to kick off social and political conflict, but who cares about that when you can have a good debate about who’s “worthy” of assistance? It’s almost like they want us to forget that we’re all in this together.
At the end of the day, if you’re okay with sorting people by their economic value, you might want to rethink your position on humanity. Is being a decent human being really that hard? Or are we just too busy trying to make sense of a world that seems to have lost its marbles?
