**Missouri Judge Says “Sure, Why Not” to Abortion Pills After a Year of Red Tape**
So, it took a judge in Missouri to finally say, “Okay, you can have your medication abortion,” a whole year after voters made it clear they wanted access. Isn’t that convenient? Judge Jerri Zhang, in her infinite wisdom, decided to side with Planned Parenthood against a whole slew of state laws that were all about making access as tricky as possible.
The state had 30 different statutes to limit abortion, because apparently, the people of Missouri just can’t be trusted to make their own health decisions. But hey, who needs democracy when you can have a few bureaucrats and lawmakers flexing their muscles, right?
The lawsuit was filed because, shocker, people actually want to control their reproductive choices without jumping through bureaucratic hoops. But don’t worry, the state will probably come up with some new “creative” ways to make things difficult again. It’s like a game of whack-a-mole, where moles are reproductive rights, and the state keeps swinging that mallet.
So here we are, a year later, and we’ve got a judge saying yes, but who knows how long it’ll take for the state to catch up. Maybe they’ll figure out how to make it more complicated again.
Isn’t it just delightful how the wheels of justice turn? Or maybe it’s just a case of “better late than never,” but wouldn’t it be nice if people didn’t have to fight so hard for basic rights in the first place?
