**Headline:** “Admiral’s Comeback: Who Didn’t See This Coming?”
So, it turns out Nancy Lacore, the three-star admiral who got the boot from Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth last year, is now gearing up for a runoff in the Democratic primary for South Carolina’s 1st Congressional District. Apparently, the defense background wasn’t a deal-breaker after all, even if it was just a short while ago that she was shown the door.
Lacore and fellow contender Mac Deford managed to outshine a whole bunch of other Democrats in the primary race. Guess that military resume really does have some pull, even in a political landscape that’s supposed to be all about the “people.”
Now, as the district stretches along the picturesque southeast coast, one has to wonder: is there a more convenient place to be running a campaign that’s supposed to be about the little guy?
Just a thought. How many voters really want to back someone who was recently canned from a high-profile job? But hey, maybe voters are just feeling nostalgic for the days of military leadership. Or maybe they’re just tired of the same old political faces. Either way, it’ll be interesting to see how this plays out.
Is anyone else tired of the revolving door of politics?
