### House GOP Plays Tug-of-War with Immigration Bill So, House Majority Leader Steve Scalise is saying they might hold a procedural vote on the GOP immigration enforcement bill as soon as Thursday night, aiming for a Friday morning pass. Sounds straightforward, right? Well, not so fast. Scalise also admits that the Senate’s unpredictable schedule could throw a wrench in those plans. Meanwhile, the Senate is stuck in a never-ending loop of amendment votes on this party-line bill. If you’re wondering why it feels like watching paint dry, it’s because they’ve been deliberating on an issue related to the Trump administration’s “Anti-Weaponization Fund” for nearly two hours. Apparently, Republicans are having a tough time figuring out how to handle it. Scalise is optimistic, though. He believes House Republicans can pass whatever the Senate sends their way. “If the Senate’s going to pass it, that means they’ve addressed the same issues we’ve had in the House,” he insists. But let’s be real—if the Senate is involved, chances are those “issues” will be dressed up in some fancy language that doesn’t quite match the reality on the ground. So, will they get this bill through or just keep spinning their wheels? At this point, it feels like they’re playing a game of legislative chicken. Will anyone actually get anything done, or are we just treating politics like an endless episode of a reality show?
