So, here we are. U.S., Russian, and Ukrainian negotiators are cozying up in the United Arab Emirates, discussing peace. Sounds promising, right? Well, not really. While the diplomats sip their lattes and exchange pleasantries, Russia is still busy pounding Ukraine. Talk about a distraction.
Let’s not kid ourselves. Russia hasn’t budged an inch on its demands, which Ukraine quite reasonably finds unacceptable. It’s like negotiating with a bully who keeps stealing your lunch money while you’re trying to work out a deal.
And what’s the point of these talks if the actual fighting doesn’t stop? It’s almost as if they’re just checking a box to say, “Look, we’re trying!” Meanwhile, the reality on the ground tells a different story.
