### Why Are We Indicting a 94-Year-Old Man?
So, the U.S. is on the brink of indicting Raúl Castro, the 94-year-old former president of Cuba. Yes, you read that right. Apparently, this is newsworthy enough for U.S. officials to leak it, but good luck finding a clear reason for the timing or necessity.
You’d think we’d have bigger fish to fry than a nearly century-old man who’s been out of power for years. But hey, nothing says “let’s focus on the real issues” like a grandstanding indictment of a frail old leader who probably can’t even remember what day it is.
The media is all over this, but isn’t it funny how they rarely ask the tough questions? Like, why now? Is there something else going on behind the scenes that’s worth distracting us from? Or is this just a convenient way to flex some muscle against an easy target?
Let’s not kid ourselves; this reeks of political theatrics. Indicting Castro might make for a flashy headline, but it’s hard to take seriously when you realize he’s not exactly a threat to our national security.
At what point do we just let the past go? Or are we just trying to keep the Castro boogeyman alive and well for the sake of some outdated narrative?
